Avocado

For some reason, whenever I am at a supermarket, checking the firmness of avocados one by one, I suddenly become social. What is up with that?

Here is what I mean: normally, I go about my day avoiding eye contact with strangers, doing my best to give off a “Please do not talk to me, I do not even understand English” kind of vibe. But the moment I start checking

avocado firmness, I find myself casually turning to a stranger and saying, “Aren’t these all too hard?”

If someone only knew me from this one moment at the avocado section, they would probably assume I talk to strangers like this all the time.

I know, I should probably just be more social in general. But it is not like I am completely anti-social—I just cannot maintain a certain level of sociability all the time. And yet, for some reason, when I am at the avocado section, my ability to interact with strangers remains surprisingly stable.
